The ECM 501L system provides a rotating spindle to mark around the circumference of a product as well as a linear traverse for marking on flat product. Cylindrical products such as connector bodies or back shells are set on the spindle and rotated while the inkjet printer is triggered. Spindle rotation is activated by a foot switch. The print head is positioned using fine pitch screw driven slides and can be set to mark anywhere in a cylindrical area 8 inches in diameter and 6 inches in height. Rotation speed for different radius parts is controlled by a knob on the front panel.

Additional Information

N/A A selector switch allows one or two rotations to ensure printing does not occur during spindle acceleration or deceleration. A third position allows for 1/2 turn with auto return for shafted parts.

For flat part marking the print head holder rotates to 90 degrees around the Z-axis. Parts are placed on the fixture table and when the footswitch is activated the print head traverses over the part.
